It’s easy to read, fun and entertaining in places, and got to the point(s) without a bunch of fluff. It’s a common sense approach to not only weight loss, but to better health in general. I actually enjoyed this book and it has helped in motivating me to clean up my eating habits. I threw away all the leftover Christmas candy and dumped a quart of eggnog down the drain. I’m a sugar addict so that’s a big deal. This time, “I mean it”! I’ll use this book as an occasional refresher when I need it, as I really do feel that it’s helping me.

I used to use fake sweeteners in everything. Just cutting those out I have lost weight and I am shocked!!!! Sure sucralose and Splenda won't make you fat per say, but they make you crave sugar like no other and its an addiction that the food industry make billions off of so of course they are going to blame your weight gain and sugar cravings on you and not them. THIS IS SO TRUE AND MADE ME SO UPSET AND OPENED MY EYES.

I loved this book because it was short and to the point and also had facts and research to back it up. But the main thing I liked was his to the point and direct way of writing that made it an easy read. He doesn't drag out irrelevant points to sale his own products which makes this book written by a man who truly wants to help others and not his own pocket book.
I support this author and I will tell everyone about this book.

This book sums up all of the many pieces of information about loosing my belly over the years, in one short read. I’m giving it another try with the four hormones in mind. I already exercise, but this encourages me to try again with renewed hopes. Wish me success in this final effort.
There’s another read titled “LOW CARB REVOLUTION” by John McLean, I read this book years ago. I've been a skeptic most of my adult years because I've listened to medical advice, seen specialists, studied vitamin & mineral combinations, literally starved myself and in general followed different advices since my late teen years. I just kept acquiring more and more body fat. Nothing seemed to reverse this progression.
I did notice a time when I was eating mostly stir-fry when my body composition was loosing fat. However, that time came and went when the Asian restaurant I favored became inaccessible.
Reading about the basic hormones in SUGAR BELLY along with THE LOW CARB REVOLUTION, made me aware of why I was losing belly fat.
Reading your book clarified the purpose of insulin in the human body. I now read labels and avoid all ADDED SUGARS, avoid most grains and feel that I am well on the way to a healthier "me". My energy levels have increased dramatically. I feel better than I've felt in years.

- Reviewed in the United States on January 15, 2019As a P90X participant a number of years ago, I knew who Joe was, and assumed he was a natural life-long monster athlete (and Tony Horton's twin brother from a different mother). In this excellent book, he reveals his own struggles with health and well-being, especially post-P90X, and where his long journey has taken him with respect to health and diet. He reveals his conclusions in this clearly written, well-researched, and humorous book. There are several aspects of the book that I particularly appreciated. First, although it is clearly written, it isn't overly simplistic. There is plenty of detail for those who want to learn more about diet and nutrition. Second, Joe provides extensive notes and annotations on his research at the end of the book for those who want to go deeper into the topics he discusses. Third, the book is remarkably free of typos, which is becoming a rarity these days. Finally, he doesn't take himself, or even the topic of diet and exercise, too seriously even though it's clear that he is a serious student of both. I found that refreshing. I highly recommend this book - and its recommendations.

As a 37 yo guy who regularly works out but like many struggles with nutrition this has been THE GAME CHANGER. I can relate to alot of what Joe states, mainly the unsustainable diet which leads to being ripped and lean only to prove a yoyo as the middle spread eventually returns. The techniques and full explanation about this makes it a Holy Grail in nutrition, it's sustainable nutrition and educating yourself for better choices. Employ the techniques that allow you to choose wisely to make that sugar belly shrink permanently.
A superb concise read, a must for everyone as it has rapidly become clear the main health issues we are seeing reported can be abated, in my opinion, with ditching sugar. Beat the sugar addiction and ditch the sugar coated lies for a healthier you.

Having just turned 52 I’ve done all the martial arts, gym, weight training, Insanity, you name it. And yet still there was a disgusting band of jelly around my middle. Not now. Faster cardio and a focus on fibre was the answer. Simples. Grab this book, devour it and live it.
